DNA (Design & New Applications) - an advanced technology team focusing on solutions that demonstrate the value of new SAP technologies and consumption models. Drove a highly accelerated mobile BI initiative for SAP’s Business Analytics Applications. The solution, after having been reviewed by SAP’s co-CEO, was used for his and the CTO’s demonstrations at Demo 2010 and the Business Analytics Solutions launch, and became a key part of the “SAP reinvention story”.

BPR was chartered with renovating SAP products (i.e. FI, SRM, SCM, etc) by identifying gaps and automation opportunities, and later piloting the new offerings at Fortune 500 companies. Established a practice and methodology for user centered design (UCD) and business process simulation. These became an integral part of the BPR project life cycle and significantly influenced SAP’s new PIL (Product Innovation Lifecycle) process. FOCUS AREASMaster Data Planner: Meta model and process design workbench. Co-innovation project with one of SAP’s premier customers. The workbench became the “Design Time” component of MDG – SAP’s Master Data Governance product. Central Master Data Management: reference model management, data governance, business rules definition and maintenance, workflow, data operations including exception management. Commodities – governance, operations and maintenance of commodities, spends categories and purchasing organizations.Plant Maintenance – self service problem reporting interface for customers and plant operators, GEO based call center interface, embedded GEO analytics.The work was showcased at Sapphire 2006 as an example of design simplicity.Logistics management: led the design of a logistics command center, enabling monitoring and handling of shipments, shipping exceptions, setting business rules, evaluating carrier services, etc. Piloted at Samsung, UPS and FedEx.Contributed major design concepts to SAP’s new UI framework: hierarchy management, business rules definition and maintenance, GEO analytics, actionable analytics and exception management.Design partners: Intel , Aera Energy LLC, City of San Diego, City of Palo Alto

Co-established the UX team in Sap Labs, Palo Alto. Hired and managed a group of forty researchers and designers. Set the UCD process, established the UI framework and style guide, verified the main user journeys with existing customers and prospects, and worked closely with the Waldorf team of product managers and engineers on the next generation ERP system.

Identified a fraud detection and automation opportunities for financial documents processing and designed an innovative solution to address it. After successful pilots with a couple of design partners, the concept was adopted and integrated in SAP's ERP financial software.
