Also training of safari horses and leading trail rides as a guide. It was good practice in handling different groups of people, both tourists and local grooms, in new situations. Work experience at a small riding school during their summer camps. The daily tasks involved stable duties, assising at the camps, teaching children and adults in both theory and practice and to lead trail rides.

Camp counselor and co-head of sailing department at Aloha Camp. Together with one other staff I was responsible for planning sailing activities. We were responsible for three additional staff and were actively teaching sailing for about four hours per day. The rest of the day was spend on administration and other activities with the campers. Before the camp, i completed the American Red Cross lifeguard training, the SOLO wilderness first aid course and participated in counseling training workshops. It was a very rewarding job where I learned a lot about communicating with different people and handling conflicts.

Work as groom and rider at a professional showjumping yard. It involved daily care of around 20 horses. For example feeding, grooming, mucking out, training horses, assist the veterinary, covering mares, breaking and more. I often groomed at shows up to international level. From time to time, I was in sole charge of the yard, including planing the horses' training and delegating tasks to the other grooms. It was sometimes stressful, especially at shows, but so fun and rewarding. Besides all the knowledge about horses, I learned to work under pressure, handle setbacks and take responsibility.
