Engaged as a Researcher and a Teaching Assistant for the Media and Entertainment area at MICA. For the former, I take part in secondary research and report writing for industry projects undertaken at the Centre for Media & Entertainment Studies. As a teaching assistant with the area head, some of my roles include coordinating classes, quizzes, visiting faculties and student queries.The ongoing experience is a direct and hands-on exposure in academic culture as well as an add on for my interests towards higher interdiscplinary studies.

Assisted with the project concerning conflict assessment between the endemic Nicobar long-tailed macaques and humans in the islands of Nicobar. Amongst other roles, conducted field work, inclusive of sampling of feeding behaviour and social interaction within the Macaque troop. The experience brought about interesting insights into personalities that emerge in living with the bare minimum in island borders. Understanding perseverence, exertion, sustainability and conservation better through day long field work.

Part of a team trying to understand emotional behavioural deviances through facial expressions and facialaction units resulting in a proprietary computer vision based software, ‘Emotence’.Carried out fieldwork for the research study on emotional expressions in typically developing children using the software and visited and persuaded schools to be part of the studyResponsible for identifying stimuli (video content) to evoke appropriate emotions within children whose data needed to be collected, researched on facial action units and microexpressions.The desired result would have been to understand the difference in emotional expressions between typically developing children versus emotionally deviant development in order to make the software a diagnostic tool for educational or medical institutions to use.
