R.ED stands for Reimagine Education. We are reimagining the type of education that refugee children in Malaysia need in order to thrive through the challenges and uncertainties that awaits them. We believe that despite the challenges and barriers that a refugee child may face, our programme can be an integral part of their journey. Our programme is designed to teach them the values to face uncertainty and build a sense of belonging for them in our programme. R.ED is also a space of advocacy for their rights. We are building a community of supporters and champions in various stakeholders that would be invested in their growth and development.Personal Key Achievements : Key Achievements• Led and nurtured a diverse team of 18 volunteers, comprising both refugees and locals, across various sectors including Programme & Curriculum, Measurement & Impact, Marketing, Research, and Partnerships & Development. Successfully harnessed their talents to drive the organization's mission and ensure the highest standards of program delivery.• Secured over RM50,335.46 ($10,596.94) in funding through strategic fundraising initiatives over the past two years.• Gained significant media visibility through features in prominent publications including The Malaysian Insight, Free Malaysia Today, The Star and Astro Awani's news series, 'It's About YOUth.' • The Athari Group Non Profit Accelerator, 2023 Cohort participant and Grantee

• Developed content for six different financial literacy programmes to fit communities ranging from primary school students, high school students, college students, factory workers, single mothers and indigenous communities.• Generated RM300,000+ in sales revenue, leading to the expansion of our client base into new markets and the addition of four new hires.• Coached and lead a team of 3 into achieving our annual financial goals as well as support in learning and development.• Achieved an average of 96.6% in facilitation skills as a host for the financial workshops• Kickstarted the rebranding of Common Sens and created financial literacy content for their Instagram• Developed content for a Sustainability Literacy Workshop in partnership with Hong Leong Bank• Interviewed and conducted assessments for various candidates as part of the hiring process for Classroom Adventures

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, RFTR has stepped up to provide Food Aid to the communities that has been affected. Since I joined in Feb 2021, we've given out over 12 000+ packs of food to various communities. My role is to coordinate the beneficiaries that would receive the food every week. This includes, planning for distribution, managing the routes that our drivers will use as well as communicating with the community leaders that we work with. As a team, we've also started to work on strengthening and building a community of leaders from the various refugee communities that we work with. With this, we hope to unite them as well as to be more relevant towards their needs by giving them a space to voice out and to speak for their communities.

During the two years, I've learned that a teacher's role goes far from just educating their students. They hold various other roles that is unspoken of. As I juggled these roles, I learned to see a student's growth from an Equity mindset rather than an Equality mindset. This has shaped so much of how I problem-solved and realised that how we choose to look at things and what we choose to notice is enormously consequential to the decisions we make. I learned that my skill in building relationships and being approachable was a strong factor in reaching out even to the toughest students. Everyday, I experienced success and failures and yet everyday, I picked myself up again in order to help these kids achieve an excellent education.

Having my first intern experience in Teach For Malaysia brought on a lot of growth in both professional and personal settings. I was tasked to assist in streamlining the candidate communication process in the Teach For Malaysia Selection process. I also supported in ensuring that all the documentation for each Fellow was ready and completed before turning it in to the Public sector. Apart from that, I took part in cultivation calls and also the role of a recruiter in the GRADUAN Career Fair 2018. I even got to design some brochures and welcome event packs.
