Provided operational, strategic, and relational continuity as FFCF completed leadership transition.

Served as the inaugural Director of the Food and Farm Communications Fund. Launched a suite of grant programs with a central commitment to resourcing the strategic communications and narrative change work of movement- and community-based organizations at the forefront of food and farm systems change. Made significant shifts in aligning the Fund’s approach with its values, including establishing a co-governance structure with a participatory Grants Advisory Committee, establishing FFCF’s capacity-building and movement support offerings, and centering BIPOC-leadership, racial equity, and grassroots organizing in the Fund's approach and funding commitments.

Selected to participate in leadership program and community of practice for grant makers to build capacity to transform philanthropy into a force for equity and social justice.

Participated as a member of the Leadership Team in setting the direction of Farm Aid’s mission. Led Program staff in developing priorities and oversaw progress toward implementing goals. Oversaw strategic direction of Farm Aid’s grant programming (including competitive cycle supporting 75+ organizations and coalitions, the Family Farm Disaster Fund, emergency grants, and the development and implementation of leadership grants). Served as liaison to the broader funding community, playing leadership roles on various committees and offering programming via sessions, webinars, and calls. Designed and implemented a range of education and advocacy campaigns to activate supporters. Collaborated with community, grantee, and funder partners through strategic events, communications, campaigns, and grassroots initiatives.

Taught Community Nutrition, Advanced Environmental Studies, and Intro Biology to grades 9-12; led environmental research consortium.

Provided research, writing, and editing for a national collaborative project intended to set the stage for progressive policy reform in the 2008 Farm Bill. Topics included local food procurement and access, system development.

Data collection for research examining the effects of organic vs. conventional practices on antioxidant capacity; documented legislative history of animal welfare standards and the National Organic Program.

Composed analytical summaries on Congressional hearings and policy discussions. Prepared white paper on the sustainability of small-scale livestock processing and slaughter.

Completed website redesign and developed consumer education materials. Assisted with farmers’ market demonstrations and sales.
