Responsible for testing, analyzing and maintaining the display, access, content, and user interface of Alcatel-Lucent’s digital library, using a proprietary content management system. This system generated topic pages and news alerts, populated with news, market research, scientific research, and standards, as they became available in our collection.Participated in the maintenance of corporate taxonomy. As new topics, concepts, and companies appeared in the content we collected, would add these terms to our own proprietary controlled vocabulary, and map it to search terms.Provided reference services to business and scientific communities within the global corporate network. Performed complex searches for market research, scientific literature, standards, and news for users in the Alcatel-Lucent community. Negotiated with and set up delivery methods from content vendors. Worked with the vendors to use FTP, automated email, whichever was appropriate, then worked with programmers to script the fetch or delivery, then create records for our databases based on the metadata in whatever form it was provided.Produced reports analyzing Alcatel-Lucent's competitors and customers. Produced news alerts on various topics for the internal corporate community. Worked to create standardized database interfaces for user access of books, technical research, market research, analyst reports, and industry and manufacturing standards, to create a unified look and feel to the library portal. This was an ongoing project, as we communicated with our users on a regular basis.

Performed jobs in a variety of positions in the company, ultimately supervising a team maintaining the web interface for Compendex, Ei’s bibliographic database of engineering research literature. Developed spin-off websites, and provided technical and research support for customers. Wrote specs and documentation for products and processes.
