Kelowna

Solo bartender in the BNA Tasting Room. BNA is a relatively new hot spot for Kelowna, and has quickly become the place to go for a quality craft pint, an incredible meal, or a great night out playing a game of indoor bocce ball. Working in the BNA Tasting Room has easily become the best job I’ve ever had. I get to pour beer and talk about beer day in and day out with lovely, down to earth patrons while working along side creative dreamers like myself.

Remedy Café is unique local Edmonton chain that provides a genuine and eccentric atmosphere for its diverse customer base. Remedy works hard to create a space where everyone is able to enjoy the Indian and Pakistani cuisine, specialty coffees, house chais, as well as local craft beer on tap and in bottles. During my time at Remedy Café I was responsible for serving customers, making specialty coffees, bartending, cashier duties, stocking, and side duties.

The Kelowna Yacht Club has grown along with the size of Kelowna into a brand new, state of the art facility, which includes an on-site restaurant and lounge that is exclusive to Yacht Club Members. The Yacht Club provides a home away from home for its members in a comfortable and classy lounge area. During my time as a server at the Kelowna Yacht Club I was responsible for serving customers, side duties, getting to know regular and members, and of course, guest satisfaction

Cask and Barrel is a unique local Edmonton pub that provides a homey, cozy, and comfortable atmosphere for their patrons. This setting allows people to “come in as customers and leave as family”. During my time serving here I was responsible for serving, side duties, ensuring customer satisfaction, as well as closing duties. There was a huge focus on customer care and servers were expected to take their service to the next level by making friends with the regulars and attracting a customer base of their own.

Red Robin is a chain restaurant company that has done very well in expanding and prospering in North America. This restaurant specializes in gourmet burgers and their mocktails. Working at Red Robin was my first true server experience, and I’m happy to say it was a fantastic one! Here I was responsible for serving customers, side duties, ensuring customer satisfaction as well as opening and closing duties.

Smack Dab was a drastic change from the previous restaurant to inhabit the location, The Wild Apple Grill. This new restaurant made an effort to bring their ambiance down to a more casual level, and their changes have been very successful. I worked the summer as a hostess and was responsible for greeting and seating customers, answering the phone, taking reservations and room service orders, and supporting the wait staff.

Responsible for communication with the kitchen, running the cafe portion of the restaurant, being available to the customers, running the cashier portion of the baked goods portion of the restaurant, keeping track of payments and ensuring the customer had an excellent dining experience.
