Senior Social Media Specialist
Ann Arbor, Michigan, Us
During my time at the University of Michigan, I led the content creation, community management and social media strategy for all of the main University of Michigan social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Linkedin, Pinterest, Instagram, Vine, Blog, etc). In addition, I acted as the in-house social media consultant to various departments within the university on social media strategy and channel development.I trained and managed our team of all-star student interns, facilitated the student-run Twitter account @umichstudents, and led the monthly social media forum featuring social media specialists campus-wide. In my first year, I fostered a growth of 102% on Twitter, 235% on Tumblr, 657% on Instagram, and 2330% on Pinterest, whom we partnered with for the launch of Place Pins alongside 19 other brands (as the only University) as a result of our creativity and engagement on the platform. I also created and developed our presence on Snapchat, Google+, Linkedin, Vine and Foursquare, as well as student intern blog and social media newsletter. Our creative work was consistently recognized in the higher ed community, and we ranked the #4 most influential college in social media, #4 most engaged college in social media, #3 most influential on Facebook, #3 most influential on Instagram by College Atlas in 2013.Basically, we crushed it 24/7.Speaking Engagements:Penn State Social Media Summit - Dos & Don'ts of Creating a Presence on New Social ChannelsCentral University of New York (CUNY) - Social Media In Higher Ed WorkshopUniversity of Michigan School of Information, Department of Housing, and Career CenterP2P Podcast - How Universities Can Use Pinterest and Snapchat Higher Ed Live - How To Get Users to Participate, Not Just Spectate
