Created a new data collection protocol to ensure consistency in the collection of data collection tools for food security small grants. Created an index of all WAFSP small grants from 2012-2015 to compile a resource of lessons learned and best practices to improve institutional memory.• Networking: Facilitated 13 technical exchanges to network host country nationals with local experts for training on topics including rabbit husbandry and rice cultivation. • Training: Planned and facilitated sessions on the technical aspects of food security concepts and monitoring and evaluation, training a total of 89 Peace Corps volunteers at pre-service and in-service trainings.
Community Development Extension Agent - Food Security
• Managed a small grant from USAID's West African Food Security Partnership (WAFSP) to support the establishment of a school garden at the middle/high school. Trained 45 students and 3 teachers in nutrition and improved gardening techniques. Managed the grant budget, developed and executed monitoring and evaluation plan to meet project objectives.• Co-organized the Femmes Contre la Faim (Women Against Hunger) Conference, funded by a grant from USAID/WAFSP. The conference trained 11 women and 12 volunteer partners in food security topics including gardening and food transformation in addition to hygiene and sanitation and child and maternal health. Participants trained 463 people in 11 different communities in child and maternal health, gardening, food transformation and hygiene and sanitation, in addition to planting over 600 trees.• Co-directed the national youth environmental camp, Camp ECO-Action, funded by a small grant from USAID/ WAFSP. Developed and executed the monitoring and evaluation campaign and trained 10 volunteers and host-country partners in survey methods and monitoring and evaluation. This campaign showed that after the 2014 camp, 29 participants trained a total of 1078 people in 28 communities across Togo. They planted over 400 trees, started 16 gardens and built 104 improved cookstoves to improve family food security. • Coordinated programming and monitoring and evaluation for the national Women's Wellness and Empowerment Conference (WWEC). Developed conference programming, developed and organized pre-conference surveys and post-conference interviews, as well as organized and facilitated conference training of trainers for 12 host-country national and volunteer trainers. The conference trained 30 women in women’s rights, reproductive health, child and maternal health, nutrition and hygiene and sanitation. These women returned to their communities to train 4339 people on these topics in the 3 months following the conference.
