Represents clients in New York State Surrogate's Court in probate proceedings and contested accountings, as well as in Supreme Court regarding estate issues. Represents large and small businesses, financial institutions, and individuals in federal and state trial and appellate courts as well as in arbitrations and in litigations involving complex business disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, employment, construction disputes, and other commercial matters. Extensive trial experience, and recently represented a New York State Indian Tribe in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in a constitutional challenge to the application of the State Cigarette Tax Law.I regularly contribute to Farrell Fritz's New York Commercial Division Case Compendium blog, and author a monthly column in the Suffolk County Bar Association's publication the "Suffolk Lawyer" titled "Who's Your Expert."
