During my time at Shanghai American School, we completely re-imagined our counseling and support services for the high school. Our goal of serving student and family needs in a way that best served our school culture and community led to distinctive counseling roles focusing on student mental health and well-being and college/university counseling. While at SAS I was also the K-12 Counseling Team Coordinator, leading a team of a dozen counselors in designing dynamic counseling and student support programs.

It was a pleasure to be a part of the team that founded the College Counseling program at Leman Manhattan, as well as the team that launched the International Baccalaureate program. In this role, I supported and guided students and families in all aspects of the college search and application process including college research and selection, essay writing, application management, scholarship applications, and financial aid. I also provide academic advising to day and international boarding students in IB Diploma courses, AP courses, and standard and honors level high school courses.As the first Director of College Counseling at Leman Manhattan, I developed and implemented a college counseling curriculum delivered via seminar, small group, individual, and family meetings. The focus was on supporting students develop multiple facets of their intellectual and personal lives. In order to make sure that students received consideration from their first choice schools, I maximized my pre-existing relationships with college admission officers, and developed new ones in order to keep them informed about the high quality scholarship at Leman Manhattan Preparatory School. I am proud that Leman Manhattan's first ever graduating class gained acceptance into highly selective colleges in the US and abroad, including the University of Pennsylvania, Duke, New York University, Parsons, Oberlin College, Syracuse University, Bryn Mawr, Tulane, Middlebury College, Waseda University, University College London, and more.

Counseling at Hunter was a unique experience that enabled me to support a dynamic and diverse group of learners as they reached for their dreams. As a member of the counseling team, I developed and implemented a robust college counseling curriculum covering topics such as researching colleges, standardized testing, academic planning, essay writing, financial aid, summer opportunities, and application management. I also created interactive presentations and programs for parents and school community members including managing an annual college fair with over 150 colleges in attendance.While at Hunter I led a project to improve communication with all stakeholders, including students, parents, administrators, and faculty members to maximize their support of students in the college application process. I also developed lasting professional relationships with hundreds of college admissions committee members and other professionals in college admissions.
