● Under the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness project: "Urban climate change resilience in cities along the Greater Mekong Subregion East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) in Lao PDR," coordinated research activities and authored an in-depth report on climate change, infrastructure development and stakeholder capacities in the project target settlements. ● Designed and coordinated climate change vulnerability assessments in the target towns. Developed assessment methodology and survey questionnaires and analyzed results. ● Designed and coordinated a capacity needs assessment to assess the climate change planning capacities of local stakeholders. ● Conducted an institutional mapping and analysis, a review of relevant policies and legislation, and a review of climate change considerations in existing development projects along the EWEC, in close consultation with local government stakeholders.

● Coordinated a final peer review with national government stakeholders and finalized the National Urban Policy Pacific Region Report (which I authored during a previous consultancy). ● Developed supplementary tools and training accompanying the publication: Climate Change and National Urban Policies in Asia and the Pacific: A regional guide for mainstreaming climate change into urban related urban-related policy, legislative, financial and institutional frameworks. ● Mainstreamed gender considerations into the targets and indicators of the draft Solomon Islands National Urban Policy.

Bangkok Metropolitan Area, Thailand

● Managed UN-Habitat activities and development of substantive outputs under the GEF-funded project: "Building Climate Resilience of Urban Systems through Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) in the Asia-Pacific Region", implemented by UNEP in 5 target cities in Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. ● Developed project information brochures and an urban EbA brief for dissemination to local government stakeholders. Strengthened the urban policy dimension of the urban EbA policy brief developed by UNEP.● Supervised three interns for development of case studies, a literature review, and a compilation of innovative urban EbA measures in Southeast Asia. ● Developed a training needs assessment and capacity baseline survey to gauge levels of understanding and awareness of climate change planning and ecosystems-based adaptation among local government stakeholders. ● Developed training modules on local climate adaptation planning and urban EbA for local government stakeholders. ● Recruited, onboarded, and trained national consultants in the four project countries.

● Under the Development Account-funded project: "Strengthening Capacities of Member States in the Asian and Pacific Region to Mainstream Climate Change Concerns into National Urban-related Policies", jointly implemented by UN-Habitat and UNESCAP, authored and coordinated peer reviews for development of the Regional Guide: Climate Change and National Urban Policies in Asia and the Pacific. ● Developed country case studies demonstrating the experiences of climate change mainstreaming into national-level urban policies in the six project countries: Bangladesh, Myanmar, the Philippines, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.● Developed supplementary tools and training to facilitate application of the guide. ● Project reporting: prepared annual and final reports for donor. ● Coordinated compilation of country outputs under the project, and provided editorial support for their finalization.

● Conducted community research in support of an initiative to engage citizens in the planning and design of Lady's Island in Beaufort County, South Carolina, to address urban sprawl and rapid destruction of the natural environment. ● Supported facilitation of community design charrettes, interpreted community input and created summary maps using ESRI's ArcGIS.● Supported preparation of a summary report of the community planning exercise for the local government, demonstrating citizen interest in planning for a walkable, transit-oriented community with mixed use areas concentrated along major corridors.

Myanmar

● Under the EU-funded Myanmar Climate Change Alliance, implemented jointly by UN Environment and UN-Habitat: developed advanced drafts of two modules for a training of trainers' curriculum on local climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction for township-level government officials in Myanmar. ● Conducted a hazard impact analysis, highlighting the primary and secondary impacts of climate change in Myanmar.● Formulated a long-list of climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction measures, based on a review of country- and region-specific literature and policies.

Yangon, Myanmar

● Under the Myanmar Climate Change Alliance, supported local climate adaptation processes for Labutta and Pakokku townships by interpreting socio-economic and ecosystems data compiled through community consultations.● Contributed research and editing for national-level strategy documents, including the Myanmar Climate Change Strategy and Action Plans, and the Climate Change Awareness Strategy for Myanmar. ● Supported project administration, including recruitment of consultants and contracting of small-scale project partners. ● Authored the National Habitat Report for Myanmar which provides an overview of the current status of human settlements, as well as ongoing projects and innovations; and presents an emerging vision for cities and towns in Myanmar. ● Drafted full project proposal for a Government of Japan-funded project for community-driven WASH and housing development for ethnic minority communities in Myanmar.
