The simulations are both steady-state (quasi-static) and transient. The transient analysis address mainly water hammering in the pipe systems. The focus is also shifting towards real-time simulations and subsequently load forecasting. The experience from our real-time simulations for our clients is a substanltial reduction i operation costs. This is large part because of reduced thermal losses from the DH systems. In combination and through the simulation follows design of system concept, how system are operated in sensible and robust way to avoid problems such as water hammering.
