I joined SARU in 2000 and am the incumbent Manager Coaching Development. I have qualified as a Level 3 accredited coach as well as an accredited Educator and Trainer with the IRB. I have 12 years teaching experience and spent two years with Boland Rugby Union managing the amateur affairs. I graduated from the University of the Western Cape with a Hons-BSc in Exercise Physiology and a Senior Teachers Diploma. I completed a modular course in Professional Sport Management at the University of Stellenbosch Institute of Sport Science in conjunction with the Cruyff Academics International as well as the MAP course with the Wits Business School. I completed the MPhil in Management Coaching with the University of Stellenbosch Business School.I am primarily responsible for the training and development of coaches and coach educators in SARU and have delivered IRB training and education programmes in a number of African countries. I delivered an Elite coaches course to 47 provincial coaches in 2002-2004 and facilitated a Skills Development Programme for 20 elite coaches in conjunction with THETA and ETA in 2006-2007. I was a Lead Facilitator for the training of volunteers for the FIFA SWC 2010 and am currently a National Coaching Education Advisor to SASCOC for the provincial coach development programme. My coaching experience includes age grade teams at regional, provincial and national levels as well as senior club teams. I also served as Technical Analyst to the Stormers Super Rugby Team (1999-2000), Springboks (1999-2000) and SA Amateur XV (2006).
