In addition, I applied my experience in CAD and 3D printing alongside my teams experience with laser cutting to design a 'Smart-CAD' model driven by tabular inputs (such as wingspan and chord length). The CAD model semi-automatically output schematics for 2D nets. What once took a team 3 hours to draw and cut, then took a laser cutter 10 minutes. This allowed for rapid design iterations. I employed 3D printed servo mounts, allowing for faulty servos to be easily replaced. Lastly, I designed a PLA 3D printed nose capable of propeller mounting, and robust enough to survive many crashes. Show less
