Over the span of over 25 years I have focussed on gaining valuable hands on experience in a range of disciplines within the Tourism industry - this includes being a supplier, property management, tour operator, reservations consultant, domestic and international sales executive and director, chief marketing officer, manager and director, public relations manager, business development, social media and product development manager.It is critical, I believe, that when you understand all the aspects of how a guest's enquiry to visit a destination/property progresses from the initial an enquiry to that of actually travelling, as well as knowing all the touch points which would create that initial enquiry directly, or via a trade partner, as well as understanding how to raise the desire for guests to stay at a specific property or destination, only then are you truly are well positioned to add immeasureable value to the project, team and company.Playing an active role within the industry is also important and I have been an active board member of the following organisations to date : Atta, UK - Director and Board Member, SATSA (Southern Africa Tourism Services Association) - Provincial and National Board Member and SKAL - KwaZulu Natal Provincial Member, Relais & Châteaux Africa and Indian Ocean delegation board member. In addition I am also currently integrally involved various foundation initiatives centred around wildlife conservation, identifying and implementing innovative disruptor processes to the business and council member for our local Anglican Church.
