Managing over 600 employees across 10 properties and providing strategic leadership and operational support to the business.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the overall efficient management of one of Maldives bespoke ultra-luxury properties “The Nautilus” and two luxury lifestyle properties “Kandima” and “Nova” under the Pulse Hotels and Resorts portfolio. Providing leadership and operational support to three General Managers and the leadership team.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Hayleys Leisure PLC, responsible for the overall efficient management of three resort Hotels and seven Boutique Properties under the Amaya portfolio. Managing over 600 employees across 10 properties and providing strategic leadership and operational support to the General Managers of the properties. Responsible for successfully commissioning and completing three major renovation projects during COVID19. The flagship properties, Amaya Lake , Amaya Hills and Amaya Beach was relaunched as the most sort after properties in 2021 in their respective locations and teams professionally trained to deliver expectational guest satisfaction levels coupled with newly introduced food and beverage experiences.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director of the Leisure Travel and Aviation cluster of Hemas Holdings PLC and Managing Director of Serendib Leisure Management Pvt LTD, was instrumental in developing the Boutique Hotels & Villas segment. With the initial investment made to acquire 2 boutique properties, within a span of 18 months my team managed to secure 5 more properties on Management and thereby increasing the portfolio to 7 properties. Responsible for the overall efficient management of seven boutique properties and successful launching the boutique villa segment under “Reveal The Collection” brand. Provided leadership and operational support to the property managers to achieve optimal financial results and offer exceptional guest satisfaction. Managed over 120 employees across seven properties and six staff members based at the Corporate Office comprising of operational, marketing and reservations. Provided guidance to the marketing team to execute the marketing plan for boutique hotels and villas and was responsible for the profitability of the business.

Directly reported to the Chairman & Managing Director and Board of Directors. Responsible for the overall efficient management of Saman Villas, Bentota and Mermaid Hotel & Club, Kalutara. Provided operational support and guidance to the hotel General Managers. Responsible for sales and marketing functions of both properties to ensure the company meets its revenue targets annually.

Reported directly to the Regional Sales Director based in Sri Lanka and two Vice Presidents in charge of the Taj Exotica and Vivanta brands based in India. Solely responsible for annual budgets of the two properties, developing new business, executing marketing strategies and managing the existing portfolio of clients.

Reported directly to the Chairman & Managing Director. Responsible for the overall sales and marketing functions of both properties. Entrusted to manage operational aspects of Mermaid Hotel & Club, Kalutara from 2008 and provide operational support and guidance to the General Manager and leadership team.

Recruited as Sales & Marketing Manager for Kani Lanka Resort & Spa, and promoted to Senior Sales & Marketing Manager after one year. Responsible for sales and marketing functions of the resort from pre-opening stage. My primary responsibility was to prepare and execute a short-term marketing plan to boost sales immediately in order to improve cash flow. Other responsibilities included a long-range marketing plan including an awareness programme.

Recruited as Assistant Sales & Marketing Manager, and promoted to Marketing Manager. Handled the corporate segment, conferences, travel agents and airlines in addition to marketing responsibilities. Entirely involved in all promotional activities of the hotel along with the Food & Beverage and Public Relations Departments. Responsible for compiling of the monthly marketing report which was submitted to the Oberoi Head Office in India with the authorization of the General Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing. In addition, responsible for starting up a new department “Direct Marketing & Customer Relations” within the Sales & Marketing Department also included handling of Office Space rentals within the hotel complex and preparation of office contractual agreements.
