I am a Sr. Research Scientist with a particular research interest in exploring the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of high-grade tumors arising in the overall course of the disease and in relation to treatment. My present work is focused on understanding the aggressiveness of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors that are resistant to multiple treatments. I have a broad background in cancer genomics, with specific training and expertise in state-of-the-art bioinformatics. During my postdoctoral training, I worked on different genomics and epigenomics aspects of cancer biology, including: 1) investigating the differential regulatory networks in cancer and normal tissues, 2) demonstrating regulatory regions (Epromoters, i.e., promoter with enhancer activity) in cancer cell lines, and 3) advancing the understanding role of polypurine repeats in the human genome and its association with human diseases mainly cancer and neurological diseases. In addition, I contributed to the understanding of how SARS-CoV2 variants may have better host-pathogen interactions. I have been awarded DCLCR Research Fellow Award, United States, from 2023-2025 and an Independent Research Grant from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), India, from 2014-2016. I have also been awarded several National and International Travel Grants from National and International Funding Agencies to present my research work in my home country and overseas.
