Founding COO of breakthrough Internet search and advertising company (founded as Ilial, Inc.). Led development of business, financial, product and market entry strategies, and instrumental in obtaining venture financing. Subsequently took on CFO/VP Corporate Development roles in guiding company through expansion in staffing, development, operations, partnerships and commercial testing. (Acquired by Inuvo in 2017.)

Incubated two vertical SaaS startups in the physician practice management (MedCere, LLC) and public safety (IPI, LLC). Provided leadership in funding, product, market entry and business development strategies.

Advised on search strategy, M&A and internationalization. Overture was acquired by Yahoo, Inc.

Led algorithmic search startup in developing and launching global, Japanese and Korean search engines that were syndicated to numerous portals, including InfoSpace, Lycos Japan and Excite Japan. Number 1 ranked engine in Japan for 3 years. Steered company through successful acquisition by NASDAQ traded LookSmart Ltd. in 2002.

Managed regional practice covering eight Western US states, that focused on strategic information technology consulting. Led e-business, e-government, enterprise resource planning, technology infrastructure and healthcare IT engagements. Clients included Fortune 500, private equity and investment banking, and government. Top 10 global performer in revenue and sales.

Taught undergraduate and graduate classes, including MBA and MS in Management of Technology. Supervised research by MS and PhD students.

Started as visiting researcher, then as graduate student research assistant, finally as research associate. Worked on optimization issues relating to temporal and scientific databases.
