About Heath Mccartney

With more than twenty years of mechanical design experience, I can take complexengineering designs from conception through manufacture and build. I also successfullycommunicate and collaborate with engineers and other peers throughout the designprocess. I can create engineering drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) andother CAD softwares (CREO, AutoCAD, Solidworks) and I am capable of learning new skillsquickly. I am also capable of checking detailed drawings to assure compliance withengineering codes and drafting standards.I have also used Windchill’s PDMLink software for eight years, allowing me tounderstand its processes from a user’s perspective. I have recently been able toimplement improvements within Creo and PDMLink and improve the design process to help reduce thetime required to create models and drawings and improve quality. From my extensiveworking knowledge of both systems, I am ready to challenge myself in a role that I canexpand on my previous designer experience and utilize that knowledge to teach othersand manage native software files.I am dependable, and committed to the success of the project, along with thesuccess of those I work with.

File ensures that all Creo users utilize the latest department standards without the need to send update notifications through other means.• Define rules and implement Creo Modelcheck. Tool provides quality models to ensure previously, and current documents meet department standards, while decreasing the time for the user to implement the standards manually.• Devise, create, test, and implement a Visual Basic Program for drawing number requests. Program eliminates inputs by the user by recognizing logins, allow multiple and different categories of drawings to be requested, provide e-mail capabilities for a list of drawings to be sent to the requester, and provide the capability of exporting Creo parameters as a XML file. These functions decreased the time to obtain drawing numbers and provide quality output files.• Implement PDMLink promotion process to convert files from a Work In Progress (WIP) state to Released (REL) to prevent released documents from unintentionally being modified and forces proper file iteration processes to occur.• Provided CAD documentation and model requests for eight, internal nuclear divisions. Support included model creation, drawing creation, signature requests, tolerance stack up calculations, and concept designs.
