My assignment for this fellowship is to manage all handles and social media platforms for Children First Collective, a San Diego based collective advocating for childcare and childcare workers. My current focus is finding and engaging community members into the conversation of childcare and childcare reform.

Developed educational and recreational programming for the enrichment of underserved communities. Coordinated events events, coordinating with outside community resources and vendors. Surveyed community for specific needs and opportunities, developed budgeting, planning and training for programs and events, surveyed community as well as all other stakeholders on execution of project.

Within the Arts and Education pod, it was my job to contribute to 10 creative programs every 2 months to offer to 17 community centers throughout San Antonio.Per program, I would develop 12 weeks worth of curriculum, as well as add a supply guide, so the centers may complete these crafts and programs with little to no guidance. Once the centers choose their programs, it is my job to request the correct amount of supplies and supply each center with all materials, as well as give them a training on the programs. Depending on the program content, this means reading step by step, using visuals, or with the more advanced projects, conducting it step by step in front of all staff.Aside from creating and training on programs, it is my duty to visit centers and help them conduct the programs being ran on any day. This means helping or facilitating programs myself. Creating special events for the community has also become a large aspect of my duties. This helps pull in participants and retain them at our centers.

* Create and maintain a safe, fun and educational environment for children before and after school. Creating a fun schedule for staff and students that fulfills program curriculums, all the while, leaving room for extra curricular events such as, cooking, science, dancing and cultural awareness to help promote being well rounded.* Attend bi-weekly supervisor meetings to goal set and conduct weekly meeting within my site to make sure staff is informed and able to ask for help in any area, new or old, they may struggle with.* Fund-raise and promote for program events. Participating our program in community events. Developing good relationships with main branch, schools and surrounding communities.* Overall, I work for the families who depend on the program to keep their children safe, happy and on the right track, mind, body and soul.
