Melissa is a UX leader and Board Certified Patient Advocate who loves bringing a person-first approach to building both products and teams. She has a strong track record of building new-to-market products and shipping products at a global scale, and has been shipping tech products since 2006.With over a decade of people management experience, she loves coaching managers to thrive with their own teams. She helps organizations scale in a way that aligns people, projects, and outcomes for the best possible results. She finds fulfillment in helping UX professionals find their ideal career path and build on their strengths. Melissa worked in the non-tech side of healthcare as a patient coordinator and crisis counselor before moving into tech. She believes in the power of centering the patient's perspective when building healthcare experiences. At Google Health, she oversaw a portfolio of UX projects serving both patients and providers. At Karius, she oversaw the UX for a for CAP and CLIA accredited laboratory diagnostic test that is used as a liquid biopsy for infectious disease. With a broad range of domain knowledge related to healthcare and health tech, she sees a future where precision medicine and value based care will transform the relationship between healthcare delivery and quality of life.
