eliot (www.eliot.com.au) is a publishing company based out of Sydney, Australia. At eliot I was involved in managing the education services platform project named ‘obook’(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H7ZMlOYwmc) developed for the Australia and New Zealand division of Oxford University Press (OUP). The project was managed in line with the Prince2 framework, with representation of all major stakeholders, regular meetings, agreed risk registers and clear processes for handling commercial and technical issues as they arose. My responsibilities included managing/updating the project schedule in Celoxis (www.celoxis.com), helping set appropriate client expectations, assist with communicating with all major stakeholders, participate in project status meetings, help with preparing project status reports, ensure clear processes are followed for handling commercial and technical issues etc. I also contributed in a major way to uploading content to obooks in reference to the InDesign versions of the books. Content included not only text but assets like images, audios, videos, flash objects, web links, PDFs etc. Creating references to images, external weblinks, videos, flash objects and files from within the text. QAing Obooks and fixing issues related to formatting, images, videos not accessible etc.

At BMC I am working as Manager- Technical Support. My responsibilities involve customer relationship management, handling customer escalations, contribution to the ISO certification process, defining processes, SLA management and reporting, workload management, employee education, performance reviews, management by objectives, project management, having regular communication with development/QA/Product Line Management, recruitment etc. I manage a team of support engineers that provide L2 support to the users of ControSA IDM product. My other accomplishments at BMC include active involvement with the initiative on defining a Career Progression for the support organization. This was to ensure the support persons are offered growth within and outside of the support organization.
