Invited speakers: alumna Sarah Durham [92 IL] of Big Duck, Beatriz Helena Ramos of Dada.nyc, James Wynn 98 GD of Gensler and Murat Aktihanoglu of ERA.Started RISD Pitch since 2021.Mission: to enable RISD entrepreneurs to pitch their businesses to a panel of judges for feedback, connections and resources, etc.

Head an architecture design studio as a student faculty–– RISD Architecture department and Lincoln School collaboration project. Co-teach 14 high school students for 11 weeks. Invite and organize guest speakers and critics from both RISD and Brown University.Invent the syllabus. Pedagogy: to navigate the creative process of architecture with an awareness of using both the intuitive mind and the reasoning mind, a knowledge of iteration, tool kits of 3D thinking-composing-building, 2D thinking- communicating, verbal thinking-communicating and an understanding of structure, scale and encounter.

Worked on the rendering, facade design, cupola design for residential projects, prepared the plan, elevation and section drawings, presented to clients. Be on a team of four to work on the entry of an international architecture design competition––“Iceland Trekking Cabin Design.” Primarily assisted architect Friedrich St. Florian on the proposal from concept design to design development. Responsibilities: Researched the Icelandic culture, architecture, energy resource, etc. Brainstorming, iterative design process to resolve the architectural program. Invented an effective skin-folding mechanism which allows for the cabin to fold and unfold from a footprint of 16 square meters to 100 square meters through mathematical analysis and modeling.

Teamwork and organize student initiatives and events: Open Studio, Open Meeting, Happy hour, etc.Co-created and run an on-campus publishing platform––RISD Hot Seat, hosting and publishing interviews with 9 department heads and RISD President Somerson. Its quotes are used by RISD Media Group to share with the general public and prospective students.Received the “Warren Family Social Engagement Award” of 2017 among 800 graduates for using “creativity, energy, care for others and devotion to the greater good has significantly made a difference in the RISD community.”
