About Michael Hines
I'm a Registered Psychologist with a passion for helping people function at their best. My expertise lies in the related fields of Mindfulness and Well-being Science and I've worked extensively with individuals, schools, and businesses throughout my career. My passion for mindfulness stems from a personal meditation practice and professional development spanning 23 years. I've taught Mindfulness at Monash University, UNSW and in organisations across Australia. Most recently I've spent the past 4 years as lead mindfulness expert at Smiling Mind where I was responsible for the design and delivery of workshops and training across all schools, workplaces and general community programs. My role included content and program development, workshop facilitation, and providing oversight and guidance in the strategic direction of Smiling Mind products and programs.I was also recently engaged by the St Kilda Football Club to help define 'Mental Fitness' and create a strategy for the wellbeing programs to be delivered through the newly opened Danny Frawley Centre. I now consults directly to schools and organisation on the intersection of mindfulness, wellbeing and performance. I also work 1:1 with high performers (executives, athletes, performing artists and coaches) as a mindset coach and do a couple of days as a Psychologist in Private Practice.
