Acquiring new skills such as data analysis, multimedia production, and social media management helps me tell stories in more engaging and informative ways. These skills also help me to reach new audiences and create more impactful journalism that resonates with readers. I've participated in several professional development sessions, the most recent being Business Journalism Training facilitated by the Media Institute of the Caribbean. I've completed sessions provided by the Inter-American Development Bank, the Institute of the Americas, the Young Reporters Program, CNN, and the Foreign Press Centers (US Department of State). As a journalist, I've found myself increasingly drawn to the subject of climate change. It's a complex issue with significant implications for the future of our planet, and I believe it's essential that we report on it with clarity and urgency. For me, reporting on climate change represents an opportunity to make a difference and help raise awareness about one of the most pressing issues facing our world today. I'm also interested in exploring the intersection of climate change with other social and political issues, such as economic inequality and global governance. I am a mentor for Climate Tracker, "an international non-profit organization, aiming to support, train, and incentivize better climate journalism globally." We work with journalists and writers from across the world." I recently joined the Caribbean Youth Climate Council (CYCC), a regional organization that seeks to increase youth participation in climate change discussions.
