YUNGLIN WANG (b. 1983) is an art critic and curator who lives and works in Taipei, Taiwan, and Toronto, Canada. She is lecturer at National Taiwan University of Arts, and the former director of both Taiwan Art Space Alliance and Polymer Art Factory. Previously, she also served as curator at Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. As a curator and researcher, Yunglin has organized exhibitions for museums, galleries, and art spaces internationally. As a writer, her research interests centre on global avant-garde movements, video art, media art, and art and science. From 2016-2018, she served as lecturer at National Taiwan University of Art, teaching two sections of the course “Art Theory and Criticism.” For this course I custom-developed the syllabus to include introduction to sociology, cinema studies, feminist art history, gender studies, digital art theory, and art criticism.

Polymer is an artist-run space containing 23 art studios, two exhibition halls and a theatre. Lead organization exhibitions of artists from Germany, United States, Russia, Taiwan, and Japan, as well as the 9th Taipei Fringe Festival, 1st Taipei Independent Art Book Fair, open-studio events, and conferences for the tenth Taipei Biennale retrospective. Also helped curate the municipal events “Surrounded with Music” and “Nuit Blanche Taipei 2016” and, by the end of tenure, successfully obtained grant funding from the Taiwan Ministry of Culture for the space.
