Jo has an entrepreneurial approach to creativity matched with a passion for telling compelling stories. She has a number of projects in development and being financed for theatrical/tv.Current projects include feature documentary OWEN about the wrestling icon Owen Hart, being Produced with Lee Brazier (YESTERDAY) and Hanger 18 Media with Executive Producer Slash from Guns N Roses.She produced BFI funded short animation GARDENING currently on the Film Festival circuit. Selections include Aesthetica FF, Bolton FF, Woodstock (US) FF, Imagine FF Amsterdam, London Breeze (winner Best Animation), Norwich FF and HollyShorts London. Jo has worked in TV production for companies including Talkback, Endemol, IWC, ITV, BBC and feature-length documentary co-productions for Discovery Channel. Her film production work includes films by Mike Leigh, Anthony Minghella, Ridley Scott and Andrea Arnold’s OSCAR winning short film WASP.She has a strong fascination with emerging technology and the impact that it is having on how we consume stories. She is producing/ writing a number of 'playable movie' titles in development with Blacksquid Studios, which she co-founded last year. Jo runs her own Production company Hipster Films and was selected as a Directors UK Inspire Mentee. Jo is a member of Cinesisters, Bafta Connects, and Women in Film and TV. Blacksquid Studios were selected to be part of the Games London cohort for the Game Changer Accelerator. She will attend SLUSH in Helsinki as part of that programme.
