Lead AI related innovated projects. Initiated the Chatbot project as an architect from beginning and lead the project to win AAA National innovation Award in April 2021. This was the initial Chatbot for ACSC that faces to public members, The Chatbot processes a member's roadside emergency service request such as towing, battery, fuel, lockout, and tire, and place a request in the system. Based on this vision, started researching available NLP/NLU and ML technologies in the market for our Chatbot in September 2018 rather than reviewing and evaluating third-party roadside service Chatbots and started a development from the end of 2018 with Microsoft AI technologies. The team published the ERS Chatbot on May 2019.Today, ERS Chatbot creates more than 3,000 requests successfully out of over 10,000 conversations daily, which is approximately 8% of entire ACSC ERS transactions, and plan to push it up to 10% in near future. 90% of reviews at the end of conversations are very positive. Serve as technical lead to design software architecture of iOS application for medical doctors, nurses and physician assistants. The HIPPA compliant application provides access to today's appointments, past and future appointments, prescribed medications, vitals, lab results, allergies and critical patient information.Designed and implemented custom waveform. The app showed waveform on a device screen while recording a speech. After recording, allowed a user to scroll waveform to edit a recorded audio.Designed and implemented Demo Mode for the application. The Demo Mode captured all API requests and replies and stored data locally. The app running in the demo mode intercepted all API requests and replied local data instead of actual API replies. This architecture did not require changing a production logic to run a demo mode.Designed and implemented an architecture that accesses multiple sets of APIs and populates data to a single core data schema. This architecture allowed a single application to access multiple different EHRs.Established a single tight team with software engineers, QA, UI/UX, Documentation, PM, Product Manager, Training, Release, and Customer support. The team discussed and reviewed UI/UX designs, application workflow designs, schedules and many other product related matters. The team made a transition to Agile through Kanban with two weeks cycle, participated daily scrum meeting and biweekly retrospective meeting. Developed mobile application to manage vehicle status, such as lock/unlock doors, open/close windows and locating a vehicle in agile team environment. The app also accessed to the client registration module to register a new account and a new vehicle. There were over 10,000 pages of wire-frame, architecture, algorithm and UI design specification document.Environment: AFNetworking, JSON/XML, Apple Push Notification

Developed two internal apps; document management system and emergency management system. The document management system was for top executive meetings in order to avoid carrying a few thousand pages' paper documents. The emergency management system provided emergency information, such as earthquake or natural disasters for PIMCO employee and provided contact information and procedures during disasters.Redesigned a merge algorithm of JSON data from a server and iOS CoreData in a device. The redesigned algorithm improved merge performance two to ten times faster. This performance improvement was a big achievement because this merge algorithm handles daily finance data. Designed and developed multiple file download algorithm that based on a document priority. Designed and developed a video player framework that keeps a video screen on the same location on any UIVIewController in an app. Utilized AR technology and developed a prototype of a new security system for login authentication.Environment: CoreData, RestAPI, AWS Authentication, AR Research, Internationalization

Designed and developed class structures of Kofax Mobile Capture SDK. The SDK utilized object-oriented concept, such as a class hierarchy, grouping and object associations to implement internal class structures. Developed several demo apps in very tight schedule. Worked directly with CTO and implemented proof of concept projects. This prototype app captured 30 document images per a second from video images on iPhone5, and performed image processing in the background, then converted an image to a document. Worked closely with a marketing department to resolve client problems. Invented and implemented a vehicle destination prediction model along with mechanical engineers at TMEA. Provided my own model to predict a vehicle destination to TMEA project. Designed architecture and developed algorithm for iOS, based on the model I provided. This system calculated a vehicle location every second or every 10 meters and determined if a vehicle was making a turn. This system stored all location data into a local device for later use. One highlighted feature was a simulation mechanism on a device map in order to validate a predicted vehicle destination.Environment: Creativity and Innovation, US Patent, Technical Challenge, Location and MapKit framework

Native XML Database R&D ProjectSold the license of this database to a company in Japan after the long negotiation processes. This project was my most favorite project. Designed conceptual model for native XML DB, a single database architecture for various platforms, and developed all components with C++. The original concept of this XML database was a self-descriptive database that does not require a predefined schema to manipulate a data. The concept is very similar to Non-SQL Database. Developed interface API with various language, such as C++, C, C#, PHP, JavaScript, JAVA and Objective C. Developed an original code on Windows, then ported to Windows, Windows Mobile, Windows CE, Unix, Linux, Mac, Android and iPhone. The most difficult technical challenge was a porting to Android because the GNU compiler for Android had various unsupported features, such as C++ exception mechanism. Developed similar function to C++ exception by using C longjmp feature.Environment: Board and deep knowledge database architecture, most platforms, various computer languages.

Alpine Electronics Research of AmericaProposed a completely new architecture for an automobile navigation system to Alpine. The highlight of proposal was to use exclusively XML, SVG for map drawing and XML for text data. Alpine had two major concerns to move their navigation architecture to future generation. The primary problem was that they had technical difficulties updating partial navigation data. The second problem was the graphics on the screen. Their product lines had at least three screen sizes, which means Alpine had to provide three different sizes of map images. This cost was very high and took more than three months to create the entire US Map for each screen size. My role on this project was Chief Architect and Technical Lead with five engineers in California and Japan. During this project, the team filed multiple patents that proposed a new map drawing algorithm and concepts. This proto-type system demonstrated improved map-generation performance. The original architecture took three months to generate entire US map while the new architecture took only one day to generate the same map. SVG Parser and Viewer on Windows CEDesigned and developed the basic architecture of SVG parser and graphic rendering component for Windows mobile and Windows CE platform. The system contains more than two hundred classes total with more than a dozen class hierarchies.
