Responsible for refactoring the existing CodeName One framework to a full stack app built on a Node.js backend and a React Native front end with a PostgreSQL database. Prioritizing code maintainability and reusability by implementing SOLID design principles, ensuring the application is flexible and scalable.

Process engineer responsible for multiple large-scale projects from the initial design phase through to successful on-site commissioning and start-up, including managing procurement, fabrication, and initial operations. Collaborated on emission control initiatives aimed at promoting cleaner emissions within the energy industry.

Worked as a member of Project Definition Management team with multiple senior engineers, applyingengineering practices and principles to investigate business opportunities throughout the refinery.Responsibilities:• Performed a feasibility study on three different methods of producing arctic grade ultra-low sulphurdiesel and presented the business case of the most viable solution to senior management, which gainedapproval for the project to move into the design phase.• Developed and analysed the business case for implementing an automated overfill prevention system onthe offloading crude tanks, finalizing a process design intent for the project to be handed to the refineryarea teams.• Investigated a solution to reduce disposal costs of spent caustic for the refinery by reducing the amountof spent caustic disposed offsite.• Thorough in-depth work within the refinery process units by leveraging operator experience andreviewing of P&ID’s.

I spent 4 months with the Government of Nova Scotia in the water and industrial management unit. Overall I was researching and coordinating the development of environmental regulations, policies and programs in areas such as drinking water, water resources management, wastewater and industrial management. Responsibilities: • Conducted a jurisdictional review of regulated setback distances from watercourses by contacting and researching all provincial governments. • Conducted a provincial review on drinking water information of all the towns, municipalities and villages in Nova Scotia. I contacted every town, municipality and village in Nova Scotia, asking them specific questions on their central water system. • Lead coordinator for hiring the winter 2017 co-op student for the water and industrial management unit in the department, which included but was not limited to applicant screening and interviews.• Represented the Department of Environment at a student career fair (Take Our Kids to Work Day) where 9th graders were introduced to all of the career opportunities the Nova Scotian Government provides.

Over the course of this summer I have spent time with a Shell secondee here in Petroleum Development Oman (Muscat, Oman), and several members of his multi-discipline engineering team here in PDO’s offices. With the guidance of a design engineering project team here in PDO, I have carried out some engineering support work that has provided me with an insight into some of the specific engineering design challenges that are faced during the execution of major oil and gas projects, and also the Shell business and project management processes that are diligently applied and practiced here in PDO.Responsibilities:• Carried out independent review of Shell codes and standards for implementation into sour gas treatment design package.• Reviewed the subsurface development program, including geological interpretations, reservoir development plans, and drilling programs.• Organized an excel spreadsheet that covered all employee information so that the project manager had access to personal information for each team member.
