I spent 4 months with the Government of Nova Scotia in the water and industrial management unit. Overall I was researching and coordinating the development of environmental regulations, policies and programs in areas such as drinking water, water resources management, wastewater and industrial management. Responsibilities: • Conducted a jurisdictional review of regulated setback distances from watercourses by contacting and researching all provincial governments. • Conducted a provincial review on drinking water information of all the towns, municipalities and villages in Nova Scotia. I contacted every town, municipality and village in Nova Scotia, asking them specific questions on their central water system. • Lead coordinator for hiring the winter 2017 co-op student for the water and industrial management unit in the department, which included but was not limited to applicant screening and interviews.• Represented the Department of Environment at a student career fair (Take Our Kids to Work Day) where 9th graders were introduced to all of the career opportunities the Nova Scotian Government provides.
