In my current position at Colombo Dockyard PLC, I serve as a Full Stack Developer responsible for the design, development, and implementation of innovative software solutions. I determine the operational feasibility of projects through rigorous analysis, problem definition, requirement assessment, and solution development. My work involves collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand information needs, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, as well as investigating and resolving problem areas.I adhere to the agile software development lifecycle, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of each project. To maintain transparency and knowledge transfer, I meticulously document and demonstrate solutions through the creation of comprehensive documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clean, well-documented code.Furthermore, I play a pivotal role in preparing and installing solutions by establishing system specifications, adhering to industry standards, and conducting programming that aligns with our organization's mission and objectives.In addition to my individual contributions, I lead and manage a skilled development team. This team plays a crucial role in identifying user needs, offering support to re-engineer existing processes, and transitioning these processes into efficient systems. I was an integral part of a dynamic team tasked with the transformation of legacy systems into a modern, integrated ERP solution. Our mission involved transitioning from legacy systems developed with Oracle Forms and Oracle Database to a contemporary in-house-developed ERP solution. The transformation was achieved through the use of C# WinForm applications and Oracle Database.Our approach was modular, and I took on the development of over 30 modules out of a total of 200, contributing significantly to the project's success. During the conversion process, we conducted extensive content gathering, adding new features and functionalities in consultation with users, drawing from their experience and new requirements.In addition to the module development, I played a vital role in system design, utilizing Data Flow Diagrams and Entity Relationship Diagrams for comprehensive system and database design. My responsibilities extended to system development and modification using C#.NET Windows Form applications, as well as the development of the underlying Oracle Database.Quality assurance was a central focus of my work, as I rigorously tested the systems in controlled, real-time scenarios, ensuring they were robust and free of issues before their implementation. My role also encompassed system implementation, user training, and the preparation of detailed training manuals to enhance user understanding.Furthermore, I took charge of the ongoing maintenance of the systems, guaranteeing their smooth and uninterrupted operation. This role not only honed my technical skills but also underscored my commitment to delivering sustainable and high-quality solutions, making a significant contribution to the success of the ERP transformation project.

During my industrial training period, I had the opportunity to work with Colombo Dockyard as part of a program coordinated by NSBM University. This immersive experience was instrumental in shaping my professional development and expanding my skillset.My time at Colombo Dockyard provided invaluable exposure to working closely with industrial users, where I gained a deep understanding of their needs and challenges. I collaborated with a dynamic software development team, which allowed me to learn the intricacies of working in a collaborative and high-pressure environment where strict deadlines often had to be met. I became accustomed to working tirelessly, at times even through the night, to ensure the success of various projects.My core responsibilities included System Development and Modification of Existing Systems, primarily using C#.NET Windows Form applications in Visual Studio versions 2008 and 2010. Additionally, I gained some familiarity with ASP.NET and Web API development. Database development was also a significant aspect of my role, with a primary focus on Oracle Database, and some exposure to Microsoft SQL Server.This internship not only allowed me to apply my academic knowledge in a practical setting but also instilled in me the ability to adapt, work efficiently under pressure, and contribute effectively to the success of projects. It was a formative experience that prepared me for a successful career in software development.

As a key member of the managing team at Dockyard Total Solution (DTS), I hold a significant role within this integrated ICT solution center, which operates as a subsidiary of Colombo Dockyard PLC and is directly managed by Colombo Dockyard's ICT department.My position is multifaceted, and I report directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). One of my primary responsibilities is overseeing a development team, where I lead and manage two distinct roles:Legacy System Conversion and ERP Development: I play a pivotal role in converting existing legacy systems, which were originally developed using Oracle Forms and Oracle Database, into a modern and integrated ERP solution. This transformation is carried out in collaboration with in-house developers and involves the development of C# WinForm applications and Oracle Database integration.Outside Software Development Projects: I am responsible for identifying and addressing user needs and challenges. This entails providing support to re-engineer existing processes and develop them into robust and efficient systems. My team and I engage in comprehensive business analysis, software development, quality assurance testing, system implementation, user training, and ongoing maintenance to ensure the success of these projects.Additionally, I supervise an IoT development team within DTS, where we focus on creating innovative solutions, including RFID attendance tracking, people tracking utilizing face recognition technology, RFID stickers and tags, and vehicle tracking through ANPR cameras and passive RFID readers.My role requires a high degree of coordination, leadership, and technical expertise. I am dedicated to driving successful projects and contributing to the growth and innovation of DTS, in line with the broader objectives set by Colombo Dockyard PLC and the ICT department
