Bijak Memilih is a collaborative initiative between WIUI and Think Policy. It serves as a voter education platform to promote civic engagement in the lead up to the 2024 Indonesian presidential elections.As Head of Research, I led a team of eight researchers to produce research insights and website content on public policy issues, party ideologies and presidential candidates’ policy platforms. This involved experimenting with innovative approaches to research methodology, data collection, AI and UX.Gaining over 11 million website views, Bijak Memilih has received various accolades from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Indonesia’s Ministry of Youth and Sport, as well as media coverage from organisations such as the South China Morning Post and the New York Times.

WIUI is a social media page that promotes political awareness amongst Indonesian youth with over 180,000 followers.I managed a team of ten writers and undertook quality assurance of social media content. Other roles included strategic planning and business development.

Researched for and produced digital content relating to Indonesian sociopolitics.

The Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP) is a prestigious program funded by Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that promotes stronger people-to-people relations and bilateral links between Australia and Indonesia.As part of the program, I undertook an internship with a local social enterprise focusing on the green economy, received mentorship from senior figures in the Australia-Indonesia space, and developed strong intercultural and interpersonal skills. As Group Leader, I was responsible for assuring the wellbeing of delegates, which involved leadership and conflict management in a cross-cultural setting.

Main responsibilities included conducting research, literature reviews, benchmarking exercises, and options analyses to identify gaps in service provision and to improve or establish new researcher development programs.A key project was the development of a program logic model and evaluation framework for the Unit's activities that informed a business case and operational plan, leading to the Unit securing three years worth of funding.

Acted as a research assistant to A/Prof Jay Song (Asia Institute) on a project relating to the experience of Asian-Australians with COVID-19. This involved the translation and dissemination of a survey to multicultural community organisations.Acted as a research assistant to A/Prof Wonsun Shin (School of Culture and Communications) on a project relating to Asian-Australians and social media. This involved conducting and transcribing semi-structured interviews.

Supported the write-up of business cases and proposals for various clients across the Victorian and NSW state governments on issues spanning infrastructure, justice, and regulatory reform.

Published a 6000-word policy report on school autonomy and educational inequity in the Victorian public education system involving in-depth analysis of policy literature and stakeholder consultation. Led to the development of policy recommendations, two of which were implemented by the state government.
