Arsenic poisoning is a medical condition caused by elevated levels of arsenic in the body. The dominant basis of arsenic poisoning is from ground water that naturally contains high concentrations of arsenic. A 2007 study found that over 137 million people in more than 70 countries are probably affected by arsenic poisoning from drinking water.- Research was conducted into methods to affordably improve the rate of As(V) and As(III) removal for implementation in developing countries, and a research paper was written by Marie Fauskrud, the master's student I was providing help to with her thesis.

Worked closely with Prof. Sabah on environmental modelling for proposed facilities. CALMET was used to gather meteorological data recorded by airports to input parameters for wind vectors and humidity. This data was subsequently used to model the resultant concentration of pollutants coming from a proposed power plant using CALPUFF.Similarly under the supervision of Prof. Ali, pollutants were modeled around a landfill site in the Haldimand county to measure the environmental impact using the LANDGEM model. The findings were presented in a technical seminar. Two scientific papers were published with the respective professors.

Cassava is abundant in Brazil and other South American countries.I was undertaking research into developing a bio-polymer for a client. Several assay kits were run to establish a working methodology to test for certain chemical ratios such as amylose/amylopectin under the supervision of Prof. Leonardo Simon. Research has since developed to isolate desirable physical properties for use in car interiors at Ford Motors.
