Hisham has also pioneered the innovative Mobile Money services for customers.He has also been the backbone for the digitalization and automation of processes, improvements in business responsiveness, efficiency gain, cost-reduction measures, growth in customer bases, and the setting up of new Commercial Business Units.Hisham holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the Faculty of Commerce (English Section) at Cairo University in Egypt. He is also a graduate of executive programs at IMD Business School in Switzerland and London Business School in the UK.On a personal note, Hisham enjoys an active lifestyle filled with travel, sports, and experiencing new cultures and cuisines. I effectively created a Target Operating Model and a ‘fit-for-future’ structure for the division; adopted appropriate change management techniques to minimise resistance to the change; re-designed and re-structured the organisation to increase the team’s capabilities, strengthen leadership and accelerate critical decision making, and established a robust divisional governance framework to increase transparency and ensure rigorous divisional control. I also conducted comprehensive customer research, gaining a solid knowledge of customers’ needs, behaviour & expectations; devised and executed a segmentation strategy, targeting various customer groups with tailored value propositions; expanded GSM and mobile payment channels, and introduced new brand platforms and digital services to enhance offerings. As an outcome, I successfully integrated the divisions; turned the revenue to positive YoY growth and regained revenue share despite heavy competition; profitably increased the market share from 29% to 31% in the mobile segment; retained the market leader position; increased customer loyalty, and improved the profit margins from -4% to 3.5%. -

My role was to provide strategic leadership to the commercial function covering all the four international markets with the combined service revenue of c.$1bn. In parallel, I was appointed as a Non-Exec Director to sit on the Vodacom Mozambique and Tanzania Boards. I devised localised strategies for each market based on the state of the individual market and the market characteristics; revamped the Sales & Distribution commission and operational structures; initiated and implemented a Big Data analytics in each country; introduced new CVM models; reviewed the data pricing and differentiated the propositions, and created strong brand claims with justified reasons. As a result, I improved the business profile and realised a significant efficiency gain, a 50%+ YoY growth in data revenue and a 10.5% YoY growth in the service revenue, increasing the revenue 200% compared to the previous year. The business became the market leader in subscribers and revenue share categories, and brand measurement index in all the countries. -
