Responsible to support new Automation projects which are being developed for various programs and installed into our plants throughout North America. Work closely with the Automation Project Manager to determine the best Robotic and Automation solution which best fits the needs of the Program and Plant.Projects that I worked on during my internship:Ford F-150 Instrument Panel Topper: Training an AI model and deploying an automated defect detection application using Python based on images classified as pass or fail by an operator to help speed up the process of quality checking.BMW X Series door panels: Supporting the designing and making of the automated production line for the door panels in their upcoming SUV cars. This included visiting the supplier of the production line, "3CON", and doing safety inspections to make sure they were up to Faurecia SOPs, doing cycle time calculations and seeing where it could be reduced to improve throughput and making weekly progress and update reports.GMC door panels: Supporting the designing of a new automated production line called "Flexline". This line would allow the production of multiple door panels of different models of cars to be on one line by just changing the nest and BOM parts, saving space and money by not having multiple production lines. I also developed a cycle time calculator for these "Flexlines" which would allow the user to enter the number of stations, the type of station (operator, US welding, screw, clips and others) and parameters such as number of welds, screws and clips, to calculate a rough estimated cycle time.
