He has extensive experience in dealing with RCRA, OSHA, and DOT regulations and regulators. Mr. Hitchens has managed multi million dollar environmental projects from initial assessment until full closure. He is qualified as an Expert Witness for the United States District Attorney for RCRA, DOT and Methamphetamine having testified in Court proceedings in Greensboro, NC. He has performed lab packs at single locations in excess of 400,000 chemicals. He has been instrumental in helping the DEA develop a simple remote opening system that is currently being taught to all new DEA agents and Sheriff officers nationwide. Mr. Hitchens position with AEO is CEO, and chemist. Mr. Hitchens actively responds to hazmat emergencies in the Carolinas, and other areas as necessary. His responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the supervision of responses in Carolinas, management of personnel and equipment, and disposal coordination for regions. In addition to these responsibilities Mr. Hitchens actively seeks out new clients and projects. Mr. Hitchens does training and seminars when needed by AEO clients and employees. He currently has taught over 40 employees how to handle lab pack chemicals and hazardous wastes.Mr. Hitchens has responded to many incidents of all types and sizes and is well versed in all aspects of emergency response from initial containment to full site remediation. Mr. Hitchens is well versed in hazardous materials handling and packaging for transportation. He has assisted numerous clients in setting up safety and transportation programs to keep their facilities in compliance with applicable standards.Prior to his employment with AEO, he served in the United States Navy.
