Back in the heydays of Web 1.0, I co-founded and led Paramark, a tech startup that provided online marketers with a platform that would allow them to do experimentation "on steroids". We built a proprietary technology to enable large marketing organizations to run 100's of experiments in a fast, low-cost manner, taking advantage of the internet's flexibility, big-data capability, and fast-feedback. Our clients included JP Morgan Chase, Capital One, eBay and NextCard. We were twice selected as one of the Top 100 Internet Technology Companies, in 2001 and 2002, by Venture Wire / Technologic Partners.It was a wild ride and I learned a lot about people, partnering, raising venture capital, building a vision, business development, and the searing pace of technological change in the 21st century.

McKinsey gave me a chance to learn about strategy and large-scale organizational impact, and to forge relationships with some remarkable people. It was one of the most formative periods in my professional career.

ADA was a wonderful community of mathematical modelers. We designed marketing models to analyze consumer preferences, develop deep customer insights, segment markets, and guide product design and pricing decisions for clients including Apple, HP and General Motors.It was sheer joy for me at a time when I was in deep love with math and wanted to see it come alive in delivering real-world impact. ADA taught me to marry the soft and psychological world of consumer behavior with the hard and analytical world of data and math models.
