MetroCluster Project Turnaround (2013-present)- Took over the MetroCluster project as the overall development manager in the midst of a stability crisis and schedule slippage estimated at several months. - Drove urgency and accountability across the extended management team (more than 12 senior dev managers and the same number of QA managers) and technical leadership. - Stepped up the pace of decision making to speed up execution.- Secured early wins to improve morale. Morale improved & attrition reduced to zero. - Succeeded in turning around the project to deliver on-time with high quality. Zero disruptions have been reported from the field since the product shipped.- Established an aggressive pace of delivery. Shipped subsequent release within a few months.Asynchronous DR Project (SnapMirror) in CDOT 8.2 as the lead manager (2012)- As the lead development manager for Async DR, led a team of about 24 engineers and three managers and an extended management team through planning and execution of the Async DR project. Made the recommendation to re-write the SnapMirror control and management to overcome fundamental architectural bottlenecks to scalability and performance. Consulted with the technical directors in their detailed assessment. While the previous version had been built over several years and multiple releases, I led this project to successful delivery with high quality in CDOT 8.2 itself. Software Development Model for DPG, later adopted by Release Team- Proposed and drove adoption of an iterative software development model across the Data Protection Group. Achieved the key goals- reduce time-to-market - delivery with high quality - improve flexibility as an engineering organization. Achieved the goal of finding more than 80% of the bugs before start of FFT, across DPG. The model was adopted by the Release Team with improvements and is in use today.
