George is EVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of W&T Offshore. W&T Offshore, Inc. is an independent oil and natural gas producer with operations offshore in the Gulf of Mexico and has grown through acquisitions, exploration and development. George previously worked as President and Managing Shareholder at The Hittner Group, a firm focusing on the intersection of business, public policy and the law. Prior to managing his own firm, George worked at American Traffic Solutions for 7 years as the Company's General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and SVP for Governmental Relations. A Texas native, George previously served as the statewide campaign manager for the 2002 successful re-election campaign of the former Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice. Additionally, he worked for then-Governor George W. Bush’s 1998 successful re-election campaign, in the Texas State Legislature for a former State Senator, and served as a White House appointee at the United States Department of Labor. Prior to joining the Department of Labor, George was employed in both the litigation and employment law sections in the Houston office of Haynes and Boone, L.L.P. He is a Texas A&M graduate, obtained his law degree and Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. George, an Eagle Scout, is active on both the local and national levels of the Boy Scouts of America, is the founder and a member of the board of the Houston Firefighters Foundation, and was a founding member of the Houston Police Foundation. He has been recognized as the Litigator of the Year by the Arizona Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Rising Star by Texas Monthly Magazine and has served as a lecturer on the subjects of American government and politics.
