During this time I learned the most common reasons why deals fall apart and the risks that can drive a company into bankruptcy. Now I work with clients to take the steps necessary to mitigate risks and avoid litigation. I know that an ounce of prevention is worth more than the proverbial pound of cure.As general counsel for a software company, I was part of a team that experienced exponential growth in size and revenue year after year. From negotiating Platform as a Service software contracts to mediating between arguing employees, I gained insight into the wide variety of issues business owners face. I know that the journey from a small company to an established legacy company has many demands.Now, I use my experience and knowledge to help clients manage the four key relationships for any business: owner relations, customer relations, employee relations, and vendor relations. For owner relations, I ensure that clients have, understand, and follow proper entity governance agreements such as Company Agreements or By-Laws. Customer relations involves supporting the sales team with drafting and negotiating contracts. Customer relations is where I help companies take the next step in growth by getting through the sticky negotiations to closing the deal. For employee relations, I make sure a client's policies and procedures are in step with current law and that the client has the employee agreements needed to protect them. Business owners sign a variety of vendor contracts. I make sure clients understand the contract they are signing and negotiate for the best deal.
