My current role involves developing product either designed by myself or the customers side through to completion with the factories, including liaising with customers on samples over email and face to face. I also keep up with design trends for all product areas and have a strong awareness of customers aesthetic, brand history and seasonal direction.Key responsibilities:- Researching material trends and technologies- Developing new colour stories- Creating design / concept boards to communicate ideas- Translating research into commercial current designs- Creating tech packs for sample manufacturing, including spec writing and constructional detailing- Costing analysis- Liaising with factories and external suppliers overseas.

My role involved leading a small team, developing and innovating designs for Koi footwear - experimenting and pushing the boundaries in order to pursue ideas to make them a reality. I was made redundant from this position shortly after starting due to the company falling into financial difficulties.

My initial role was to lead the design and development of ladies’ casual footwear for Barbour and Joules, two of William Lamb’s key branded customers. This involved taking responsibility for all aspects of aesthetic appeal, technical functionality and performance, to create commercial fit for purpose products.

I worked primarily with the men’s/unisex projects produced in Vietnam and Thailand, visiting the factories overseas four times a year.
