CurrentHanns’ main areas of expertise are in the field of automotive engineering, computer-implemented inventions, medical technology, microprocessor engineering, semiconductors and telecommunications. Hanns acts primarily for large and medium-sized corporate clients from the UK, US and mainland Europe, with most of his work being in the area of preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Being also a German patent attorney, he advises on German intellectual property rights.His strong technical background comes from his degrees and PhD in electronic engineering, his many years of experience working in private practice, as well as from working in-house for six years. Hanns has a great deal of experience in handling complex legal issues in respect of existing patent portfolios for which he has taken on representation, such as re-establishment of rights.
