I serve as a Residence Hall Director at New York University. In this position and throughout my professional development, I promote an efficiently managed and inclusive work environment. I focus on implementing gender studies pedagogical theories into curriculum and recruitment strategy and on equity in education. In 2015, I graduated magna cum laude with a BA in English with minors in Gender Studies and the Honors Program from Nazareth College. I completed a thesis on challenges posed to women leaders at liberal arts institutions. I began my graduate work as an MS candidate in Higher Education Student Affairs at the University of Rochester; I worked as a graduate admissions assistant at the Warner School of Education and as a graduate resident advisor at the Rochester Institute of Technology. There, I also completed an internship in the Office of Career Services and Cooperative Education. I worked as the Graduate Head Counselor in the Pre-College Program at the University of Rochester. My graduate career culminated in a thesis on women's advancement in STEM fields. Upon graduating with my MS in 2017, I transitioned into my career at Western New England University, first as a Residence Director and then as an Area Director. I supervised three Resident Advisor teams, chaired the training committee, served as a Residence Hall Association advisor, gained Civil Rights Investigator Training Levels One and Two, adjudicated conduct, and implemented a robust residential curriculum.I transitioned into my role as an Area Coordinator at the University of New Haven. I supervised 3 sophomore residence halls (including our Transfer Student Living Learning Community), one Graduate Resident Director, and 5 Resident Assistants. I worked collaboratively to develop a sophomore programming model focused on critical thinking and cultural awareness. I optimized residential development through the competency learning experience. In my current role at NYU, I supervise two professional and one graduate staff members on our building leadership team. I collaborate with our faculty in residence and our paraprofessional team to implement community-based engagement opportunities, manage large-scale operational projects, provide crisis intervention, co-chair our paraprofessional training committee, and adjudicate conduct through a restorative justice lens. My professional interests include learning & development, residence life, admissions, career services, multicultural affairs, and Title IX investigation.
