Intern & Board Member

Prospect Historical Society

In my internship I aided in the reopening and redesigning of the historical Hotchkiss House of Prospect, Connecticut. I planned out a new usage for the town's old one room school house to be redecorated to display its original purpose and as a location for the town's historical archives. This plan was proposed to the Prospect Town Library and the Historical Society and was then implemented. I also began revamping the collections management which included cataloguing the items owned by the Historical Society as well as verifying their origins and validity. In addition to this, I sorted through the items on display and redesigned each of the rooms on the ground floor of the Hotchkiss House in order to make them more tour friendly. Since these initial efforts I have been assisting in various other tasks including developing the Society's social media, secretarial duties, and touring visitors. I have also recently served as a member of the Prospect Historical Society's Board.
