Lead Instructor, Team Leader
CurrentGalileo is an innovation-focused summer camp. I work primarily with campers entering K-2nd grade. I started as a team leader (camp counsellor), and became a lead instructor near the end of my first summer. In my roles at Camp Galileo I have:- Led groups of up to 20 campers through rotations and implemented strategies to include kids with different learning/social styles (Team Leader role)- Taught 3 rotations (~75 campers/day) of Innovators' Studio curriculum (Lead Instructor role)- Learned how to manage a classroom and its materials- Sought out feedback from colleagues and through reflection on the lessons; continually redesigned to provide the best possible experience for the kids- Planned staff events to foster a workplace community- Organized activities and group games to keep campers safe and entertained during snack/lunch breaks- Implemented restorative justice to resolve camper conflicts- Collaborated with colleagues to promote the Galileo Innovator’s Mindset- Practiced customer service by updating camper families and attending to their requests and questions
