He is a professor at the Federal University for Latin American Integration (UNILA) and a member of the Energy (IST-Energy) and Environment Platforms. (IST-Environment) from the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon (IST/ULisboa). Professor of Postgraduate programs at UFABC and UFSCar in Sao Paulo. Experience concentrated mainly in the areas of Civil Engineering (Hydraulics, Water Resources), Environmental and Mining; Environmental and Social Sustainability, as well as in Territorial Planning and Management. Regarding academic training, the following stand out: a Degree in WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING from the University of Évora (1998), a Specialization in HYDRAULICS AND WATER RESOURCES from the Instituto Superior Técnico da University of Lisbon IST/ULisboa, Master in ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND POLICIES from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the New University of Lisbon FCT/UNL (2004) and PhD in ENGINEERING SCIENCES (scientific area: Civil and Mining Engineering) from the Instituto Superior Técnico da University of Lisbon (2006).
