I led coverage of the US economy. In 2020, I was the first reporter to point out that the rich had almost fully recovered their job losses, and I played a key role in naming the "K-shaped recovery." My reporting pointed out "glitches" in getting stimulus checks out and forced the U.S. Treasury to automatically send payments to millions of Social Security recipients. In 2021, I was the first to chronicle the "Great Re-assessment" going on in the labor market as workers were reluctant to return to low-wage jobs and harsh or inflexible working environments.Awards: Gerald Loeb Award for Breaking News (finalist in 2018 and 2020). SABEW Best in Business Award (honorable mention in 2020 for economics reporting and honorable mention in 2020 for data journalism). Washington Post Publisher's Award (2017).
