I love writing, sports and social media. If I'm able to do something that's any combination of those things, I'm happy. In 2015, I became one of six in-game social media coordinators in Major League Baseball, updating Twitter for the Minnesota Twins. I continued with that role through the 2023 baseball season.I'm a reporter, with a background in a variety of areas, including sports, city government, education, crime, community news and general assignments. Though I love sports, I'm much more of a spectator than an athlete, which goes along well with reporting because reporters observe. I didn't play many sports, but I love to watch them. It's so rewarding to see the great stories that come out of sports.I worked at three newspapers in Greater Minnesota. I've built up my portfolio with a variety of freelance opportunities including covering state high school tournaments and writing feature stories for the Star Tribune. Starting with the 2023-24 hockey season, I expanded my role with Minnesota Hockey Magazine, becoming the editor. Past event coverage: 3M Championship (now 3M Open), Schwan's USA Cup, WNBA Finals, NCAA volleyball regionals, USA sled hockey tournaments, Isobel Cup Final, NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, MLB Postseason, 2022 NHL Winter Classic, Hockey Day Minnesota, USA/Canada women's hockey Rivalry Series, NCHC Frozen Faceoff, Big Ten men's hockey tournament, NCAA men's hockey Frozen Four, Minnesota State High School League section/state tournaments (hockey, basketball, football, volleyball, tennis, baseball, soccer, swimming, badminton, adapted sports). It's always interesting to meet new people and hear their stories.Connect with me on LinkedInEmail me: heather.rule86@gmail.comPh. 612.306.6106Check out my website: heatherrule.comRead my sports blog: thoughtsfromthestands.blogspot.comFind me on social...Follow me on Twitter: @hlruleFollow me on Threads: @hlruleFollow me on Instagram: @hlruleLike my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/heatherrule86Follow me on Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/hlrule.bsky.social
