This position is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and negotiating claims thru procedures and state regulations:• Handled Liability claims involving personal injuries or third person property damage from liability situations• Determined coverage of the insured in accordance with the company guidelines and made liability decisions based on telephone claims investigations• Evaluated injury claims, adjusted and prorated special/general damages, and negotiated settlement of bodily injury claims• Reviewed and evaluated demand packets from attorneys and claimants• Determined liability based on a complete investigation of the facts of loss from all parties which included personal statements and video tapes of accidents or officer body cam footage• Explained basis for decision of injury cases and designated fault according to investigations• Conducted investigations by making timely contact with insureds, claimants, and witness along with taking recorded statements• Worked with internal company attorneys to assist with court cases that involved my investigations. Helped in reviewing all data and facts of cases to bolster the defense of our positions. • Maintained a diary of pending files and updated information to ensure a record of claims with continual review and monitored progress. • Controlled rental and settlement of total loss vehicles, coordinated rental • Recommended settlement offers to mitigate further litigation by claimants to save on future claims or costs
