Continuing my architecture work for Proximus, but now as an employee rather than as a freelancer. I look forward to being on the inside during decision making and helping my colleagues to deliver great IT systems to support the business and our customers.

Responsible for the design of a brand new business communications platform for delivering messages towards Proximus customers and prospects, at the heart of which is OpenText Exstream 16.6. Delivery channels include e-mail, SMS, Push Notifications, printed letters, and more. >60 IT systems request personalised message delivery and follow-up of recipients' behavior. We're building an OpenShift microservices based pre-processor which feeds Exstream to trigger message generation and orchestrated delivery via on- and off-premises channels. Backwards compatibility for business continuity and embracing a wider range of digital channels are key objectives.

MarTech and AdTech domain architect for Proximus. My responsibility was for a team of IT developers and creating the end-to-end architecture to deliver advanced marketing automation and targeted online advertising. We connected on-premises IT systems with Oracle Marketing Cloud (Eloqua); Adobe Audience Manager; and Qualtrics Customer Experience Survey Platform. We took marketing and customer survey data from a wide variety of sources (with varying schemas, interfaces and technologies) including our Teradata data warehouse, Salesforce CRM and customer database to populate cloud services in near real-time via their REST APIs. Specifically for Adobe's Audience Manager, we used their DCS API to on-board first-party key/value 'signals' to set DMP traits while taking care of the hashing of Personally Identifiable Information and compliance with GDPR regulations. Finally, we also integrated cloud services with our telecom capabilities, e.g. to send SMS messages to a given audience segment.

Analysis and detailed design of B2B web services between AG Insurance and its partners, including BNP Paribas Fortis bank and UBench. Other responsibilities included the detailed design specification of workflows, orchestrations and batch jobs. Project work was according to Agile principles while the ICT environment was .Net, BizTalk and IBM mainframe (COBOL and DB2).

Applied for European Commission (EC) funding of an ICT innovation project via the Horizon 2020 innovation support fund. The proposal was for creation of a new platform to integrate legacy IT assets into the Future Internet domain. The proposal received a Seal of Excellence from the EC in 2016. It incorporated three Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to solve one of the most complex integration problems in the world.

Worked at Vodafone Group on their advanced consumer service, Vodafone Start, for mobile subscribers around Europe and beyond. Among my duties were requirements review and improvement, working out shared enabler dependences, data model needs, and Mondrian API selection. This work involved UML Use Case analysis, Sequence Diagrams, high-level integration architecture description and recommending the best solutions from among the possible alternatives.Reviewed the software specification process and core IT technology for Vodafone Group, making recommendations to senior management in order to make strategic changes.

• Wrote the product specification for a new innovative RESTful web resources platform.• Identified relevant technology trends to adopt including REST, ROA, Linked Data, and Events.

• Expert in Vodafone’s SOA APIs for Payments, Provisioning, Tariff Plans, Location and others.• Consultant seconded to Vodafone Group HQ to work on new SOA web service specifications.• Collected functional and non-functional B2B IT integration requirements at Vodafone OpCos.• Designed the IT solution (LIG) to deliver SOA APIs for Vodafone Germany, Spain and Ireland.• Answered RfQ/RfPs received from Vodafone Group and Vodafone ES, IE, DE, NL, CZ and HU.• Created a financial model of end-to-end API Exposure project delivery (including downstream integration and vendor management) within Vodafone OpCos for use by Vodafone Group.

• Expert on Huawei Service Delivery Platform and Next Generation Intelligent Network products.• Designed the IT solutions for prospective clients in support of Huawei’s sales push of SDP.• Created a vision of SDP that covered telecoms-grade SOA; IT technologies; linking of SDPs across telecoms organisations; and multi-tenancy MVNO support for MVNEs and operators.

• Extracted the key BSS requirements of 50 current and planned VAS service delivery projects.• Identified 140 shared functional components to speed up and reduce costs of VAS delivery.• Created a Vodafone appropriate reference model, including B2B, by applying ITU guidelines.• Created a transformed IT architecture for VAS service delivery over the coming 5-10 years.

• Carried out an audit of BSS systems used for customer care; billing; provisioning; Service Provider access; service and network management; etc.• Worked on IT transformation to deliver new internet e-services including self-provisioning; online bill presentation; E-Shop; voicemail settings; and prepaid top-up with credit card.• Collected the requirements of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service from across many Vodafone NL departments ranging from Marketing through to Network Operations.• Recommended a course of action to the CIO when awarding this multi-million Euro contract.

• Sole IT System Architect for a new OSS Service Management System primarily offering data provisioning and resource management functionality, covering parallel releases of multiple VAS services across many network elements.• Carried out all software and hardware architectural design covering physical distribution, storage, concurrency, synchronisation, and key algorithmic aspects.• Technical co-ordination of the 20 programmers and testing staff involved in this project.• Chief Software Architect of a nationwide leased-line OSS Network Management System (NMS).• Provided team leadership, systems programming, and I wrote and gave training courses.
